Rebel Ethics Makes It Three Masters Wins

By Jeff Collerson
"I only hope he is going as well in a bit over a month's time" quipped trainer Jake White after Rebel Ethics scored his third successive Masters win at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

White was referring to the $50,000 Masters Meteor, which is Rebel Ethics' goal and will be held at Wentworth Park on October 18.

Rebel Ethics has become Wentworth Park's Masters star, winning in 29.95 on August 17 before leading throughout in 29.73 on Thursday night.

On Saturday Rebel Ethics' 29.75 performance to run down tearaway pacemaker Lady Divine took his earnings to over $112,000.

"Rebel Ethics backs up well so I wasn't concerned about racing him tonight just 48 hours after Thursday's win,'' trainer Jake White said on Saturday.

"But when he was back in fourth spot on the back straight and giving the leader a big start I started to wonder whether Thursday's run may have flattened him a bit.

"So I was rapt how strongly he went to the line and I only hope he is going as well when the Masters Meteor comes along in a bit over a month.''

Rebel Ethics became eligible for Masters races when he turned four in June but Lady Divine, who reeled off slick early splits of 5.38 and 13.77 on Saturday, only became a Masters qualifier last Monday.

Neutralized gave the 2021 Richmond Derby winner Incapacitated his first Wentworth Park winner as a sire when he led throughout on Saturday night in 29.88, clearly his personal best Wenty figures.

After the race trainer Tess Simmons said: "Neutralized crashes towards the rails so having box two tonight was a big help.

"And when the dog in box one was a late scratching that made things so much easier for him.

"Incapacitated has not got many litters on the ground but there are a couple of his offspring winning in Western Australia and there are good reports about a couple about to start racing.''

Simmons, who has 30 greyhounds in work, is enjoying a winning streak, having scored with My Baroque Love in 30.06 at Wentworth Park on Thursday.

Arthur Langman has enjoyed great success as an owner with the JODIE and Andy Lord-trained Screaming Jet, but he enjoyed his first 720m success as a trainer when Bandit Daryl staged a last-to-first performance to win in 42.43 on Saturday night.

Bandit Daryl is from the first litter whelped by former top class stayer Just Terms, a Newcastle Cup winner, and is owned by JODIE Lord.

After Saturday's race, JODIE's husband Andy Lord said: "Arthur wanted a dog to play around with so we gave him Bandit Daryl to train.''

Arthur Langman added: "My good dog Screaming Jet, who has won a dozen races, has just returned from a spell and he will be in the heats of the group one Dapto Megastar on Thursday night.''

JODIE Lord may have handed Bandit Daryl over to Arthur Langman but she was well and truly in the winner's circle on Saturday night too, training a winning treble with Marshall Kade in 29.97 and litter brothers OMEGA TRAVIS and OMEGA JACOB in 29.53 and 29.77 respectively.

And to cap a great night for the family, the Lords' daughter Hayley Moffitt won with From The East, who took out a 520m fifth grade in 29.69.

Former Victorian Recycled continued his remarkable Wentworth Park form when he ran down All On Mum and First Lady to win a 520m fifth grade in 29.57.

Recycled is now unbeaten in three Wentworth Park appearances since coming from Victoria, scoring in 29.76 on August 15 and in a sizzling 29.45 nine days later.
