Mortified was an invitee but missed securing a draw in Melbourne's November 11 Sportsbet Topgun so instead she will clash with her kennelmate and litter sister Quantifiable in Saturday night's 520m Wentworth Park Free-For-All.
"It's not ideal having them in the same race but when Mortified wasn't selected for the Topgun lineup she had to have a race so I nominated her for Wenty,'' trainer CHRIS O'Brien said.
"Quantifiable has box one and Mortified has box four so the draw evens things up a bit for them.
"If I trialled them solo at their best Mortified would probably run the equivalent of around three lengths faster time than Quantifiable.
Quantifiable after her recent Goulburn Cup victory.
"Mortified came from behind to win from box two at Wentworth Park on October 21 after she misjudged the start and hit her head on the boxes as the lids lifted.
"Then she missed the kick from box four when she ran second behind Agland Luai in very fast time at Wentworth Park a week later.
"I just hope the incident when she bumped her head hasn't spoiled her normally good box manners.
"Mortified can't afford to dwell at the start on Saturday because Quantifiable is perfectly drawn, is improving all the time, and has become stronger at the end of 520m.
"And then they both have to contend with a top notcher like Zipping Novak in box three and with another good dog, Zipping Maserati, resuming from a spell in box seven.''
Unbeaten Bandit Dan makes his Wentworth Park debut in Saturday night's Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Stakes, a 520m fifth grade, but Andy Lord, whose wife JODIE trains the promising sprinter, has warned the dog would be better drawn wide.
"Bandit Dan has never seen Wenty, he hasn't even trialled there, but he had not been around Dapto when he won there on October 5,'' Andy Lord said.
"His Dapto run was terrific because he was badly checked soon after the start but I think he will want to get wide at Wenty.
"Bandit Dan has box two and having a vacant box on his outside and having only five rivals will help him but we would be more confident if he had drawn seven or eight.''
Hardest for Bandit Dan to beat could be the much improved Zipping Swift, who is yet to win at Wentworth Park but has been placed twice in six appearances there.
The Melinda Finn-trained Zipping Swift has box seven and handled that draw superbly when she came from behind to win by six lengths over 520m at Richmond on October 18.
Andy Lord is more upbeat about the prospects of his dog Nangar Larry, who has box two in race two, and of wife JODIE's Mr Yellowstone, who will exit box eight in race five.
Andy Lord said: "Nangar Larry gets his chance to break through at Wenty after being placed in four of his six starts there.
"He is not terribly strong over 520m but he has good early pace and from box two he should just about be able to lead around the first turn.
"And if he is in front in the early stages I expect Nangar Larry to get home.
"Mr Yellowstone is a lot faster than most people realise but he has had only four starts at Wentworth Park for two wins simply because he tends to be injury-prone.''
