In what looks another very open maiden heat the on top selections are for the first starters SPLINTERS (5), COSMIC RUM (4) and LASER MAN (6) despite their all drawn awkwardly. OPTIMYSTIC (7) improved last start at Gosford and also has claims. If he gets a start the second reserve BUDDY THE WEAPON (10) shows enough talent to be a serious threat.
