KINGFISH (4) ran third last week in his first run over this track and trip behind Midnight Grand. He is sure to take great benefit from that effort and can begin a lot sharper. He’ll have to turn the tables on HIGHGATE PETE (5) who got the better of him late in the piece in the aforementioned race. He appears the main danger on paper. SHERRY CHERRY (1) showed good speed in this race contesting the lead before running off the track badly and finishing fifth. She won her lone start from box one and if she can begin similarly, she could very easily lead this race and take some catching.

RAIDER’S GUIDE (8) returned from a six week break with a brilliant win in the RMHC Hobart Cup on Thursday night defeating Aston Hematite in 25.77. He is on the quick back up and rises to the 600m which he will enjoy. A true box eight bandit and the small field should eliminate any obstacles. ROJO BOLONEY (6) defeated Legendary Danger over this track and trip three starts ago. This form has stacked up quite well with Legendary Danger winning and placing since. All the same, this is an incredibly steep rise in competition. BLACK DANGER (4) has been burning the punters pockets in masters grade of late. With all due respect, he would need a Bradbury moment to score here.

CADIA GOLD (2) makes his Tasmanian debut for Michael Pearce. He brings strong formlines and times from WA. He was last seen defeating former Tasmanian runner, Elsa Boloney over the 488m at Mandurah by almost four lengths. Boxed to win. SEIKA’S SHADOW (1) was well supported once again last week when finished unplaced behind Maximum Capacity. She’s had her chance over the past month in suitable races and I think the punters will give up on her for the time being. Rock bottom price in early markets. MRS. FENCER (8) has done her best work from wide draws in the past. Her last win came from this box just six weeks ago over the 340m at Hobart. Unlikely to beat the raging hot favourite; however, can finish in the minor money.

SWEET SUNDOWN (8) has built a rather faultless record having won seven of her nine starts with two minor placings. She won her lone box eight start in slick time over the 278m at Launceston and has won her past two starts over this track and trip in sub 30 seconds. VINTAGE CLASS (1) has been her own worst enemy in recent weeks beginning slowly and powering home to finish in the placings. She won’t be able to get away with that from box one with a few speedsters drawn directly outside her. Could be vulnerable. FLY HIGH BET (3) returns from a four month break. She built a nice record in her first preparation winning six of her 11 starts including two of five over this track and trip. Equipped with extreme early speed and knowing the kennel, she will be in tip top shape in her return to racing.

WYNBURN SOLSTICE (1) returns to Launceston after a stint at Hobart where she won three of her four starts over the 461m. Most of these runs were from wide boxes so she will appreciate exiting box one where she is unbeaten in two starts. Has shown she can break the clock here and gets her chance to do it once again. FRAZIER PRICE (7) returns from a two month break. She was last seen finishing third to Volume Up in the Illingworth Classic Final. Seven of her eight career victories have come over this track and trip. Main danger to the favourite. TIME PASSAGES (2) doesn’t win out of turn, only scoring twice in 20 starts; however, she’s not afraid to put her hand up for a minor placing with nine to date. Drawn to get all the breaks and can finish off better than most.

LOVE AGAIN (4) returned from a three week break in brilliant fashion scoring over this track and trip in 16.38. He defeated Bronte Maree on that occasion who has franked the form winning since. He is the king over this track and trip and will look to add to his remarkable record. PETERINA (1) has been hit and miss in recent weeks which has made her hard to assess. She owns a slick personal best here of 15.95 and has won two of her three starts from box one. More than capable if things click here. FOSSIL BLUFF (6) has recently struck a rich vein of form finishing in the quinella in his past three runs. This is a step up in class; however, he is more than capable of causing a boil over.

Difficult race. WHISKEY FLYER (2) drops back to the 515m after finishing third behind the in-form Copper Mountain over the middle distance. This run should strengthen him up and as long as he can hold a position exiting the first corner, he should finish better than most. VERONICA LODGE (5) is enduring a form slump. She returned to the podium last week albeit in slow time. Could easily lead this race if she wound back the clock. DEWANA BOOGIE (1) is extremely hard to catch. He hit the line well behind his littermate last Tuesday over this track and trip for third. He will appreciate returning to an inside box. Just needs to hold a position early.

BIG YETI (8) destroyed his rivals last Monday winning by seven lengths. He enjoyed having room to move and appears well boxed in the eight to loop his opposition once again. AGENT RAHM (1) bumped into the sharp Roxy Rocker last week. He began as well as he can but was unable to match her tremendous early and mid race speed. A similar beginning would see him take control of this race early. AKUNA STREET (4) returned to her pet track and trip last week which resulted in her winning her ninth race. Five of those wins have come here and she cannot be underestimated.

HIGHGATE ROSIE (3) excels over this track and trip. That sentiment was in play once again last fortnight as she defeated subsequent winner, Mahjong Nicki by almost five lengths. Capable of spearing the lids and being extremely hard to run down. BRIDWOOD CARTER (4) will appreciate returning to Launceston after finishing third at Hobart. He won last week over this track and trip in BON 16.12. Drawn to get a lovely cart into this race and can explode late. SICK BUBBLEGUM (8) is another runner who will appreciate returning to this track and trip. She won here in 15.87 just three starts ago which is only a tick outside the track record. Handles wide box draws and appears one of many hopes.

THOR DANGER (1) brings the A1 form to this race having run well behind the likes of Supreme Leader. He has won his past two races and enters this race on the fresh side which should offset a steep drop in distance. Strong late. LAMIA LUCIA (4) showed a nice turn of speed in her Tasmanian debut before being run down late over this track and trip. A similar exhibition would see her hard to run down once again. KING FENCER (2) won two starts ago over this track and trip in 16.64. He does his best work here and could finish in the minor money.
