Ladbrokes Bonus Prizemoney For Grafton Opening

After nine months of work, the brand new multi-million dollar Grafton racetrack will be unveiled next Monday, and if being one of the very first to race at the state of the art facility wasn’t enough for participants, long-time industry sponsor Ladbrokes have generously offered additional prizemoney for the historic meeting.

Nominations for Monday’s first Grafton meeting close with Greyhound Racing NSW on Thursday morning, and the latest offering from Ladbrokes is certain to ensure an overwhelming number trainers will be chasing a start.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, Ladbrokes are announcing that they will be adding an extra $1,000 prizemoney for the winner of every race of the card.

"Ladbrokes has been a strong supporter of the Grafton Greyhound Racing Club for a number of years and we are thrilled to see all of their hard work come to fruition with the opening of the new facility,” Ladbrokes Chief Executive Officer Dean Shannon said.

"Ladbrokes has a proud record of supporting the racing industry and its participants, and to help celebrate the opening of the new track we will be putting up an extra $1,000 of prizemoney for the winner of each race."

It has been an exciting time for Grafton President John Corrigan as he said goodbye to the old track and a proud hello to the new circuit.

“Of course it was sad to see the old track with so much history go, but a new track was needed for the participants in this region, and we certainly have got the best of it with this facility,” Corrigan said.

“We have had trainers from all over the State come here to trial and take a look, and they are all singing the praises of the track, and how well their dogs handle it.

“We wanted safe track for our dogs to race, and that’s exactly what we have got, and full credit to the track designers, and of course many thanks must go to Greyhound Racing NSW chief executive Tony Mestrov, and his general manager of tracks David Aldred, and their teams, for all the work and support they have given the Grafton club during this rebuild.

“And a special thanks has to go to Dean Shannon and Ladbrokes. They have been wonderful supporters of the Grafton Greyhound Club, and what a fantastic and generous gesture to add $1,000 to the prizemoney for every winner at our historic first meeting next Monday.”
