Update For Hunter Region Participants

By GRNSW
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) wishes to advise all participants of some important restrictions around meetings in the Hunter region, following yesterday’s lockdown announcement by the NSW Government.

From 5pm on Thursday, August 5, those in the local government areas of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, CESSNOCK, Dungog, SINGLETON, and Muswellbrook, were placed into lockdown for seven days. Subsequently GRNSW declared this area racing Zone 3, and only participants who reside in this area are permitted to race at the Zone 3 tracks of Maitland and LADBROKES GARDENS

Due to the uncertainty of lockdowns, and with race meetings likely to be drawn prior to any further advice on the current lockdown, GRNSW believes it is prudent for nominations for the meetings at LADBROKES GARDENS on Friday, August 13, and Saturday, August 14, as well as the meeting scheduled for Maitland on Monday August 16, to remain restricted to participants who reside in the Hunter lockdown region.

GRNSW also wishes to advise participants that unfortunately due to the current circumstances, the State Distance Championship scheduled for LADBROKES GARDENS on Friday, August 13, will not be held, however a Best 8 for $5,000 over the 715m, will be programmed.

There are also numerous racing opportunities for participants in the outer regions of the Hunter, who are not locked down following Thursday’s Government announcement, with race meetings scheduled for Taree, Grafton and Dubbo on August 11, Dubbo, Wauchope and Tamworth on August 14, as per GRNSW calendar.

Participants are also reminded that for trial purposes, you are only allowed to trial in your current Zone.
