GRNSW Partners With Hunter Academy Of Sport

By GRNSW
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is excited to announce it has partnered with the Hunter Academy of Sport (HAS) to provide an educational first of its kind for the industry.

The Hunter Academy of Sport will later this month introduce the 2021 Greyhound Trainers Program, which will feature two educational sessions for youth trainers from the Hunter region. The sessions will take place at the HAS Gym on Thursday June 24, then the following day at The Gardens racetrack.

The 2021 Greyhound Trainers Program is in line with a pathway program for high performance, including healthy lifestyle and integrity which has been created utilising the Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) in partnership with various venues and facilities around the State.

The main focus of the Academy program is to create junior development to educate away from the track. Parents are encouraged to attend these sessions alongside their young trainers.

Session one will see various professionals present on numerous topics including functional movement screening, sports psychology, nutrition, social media and alcohol and drug awareness.

Session two at The Gardens, will see topics such including industry rules and regulations, greyhound welfare and industry operations, presented by various professionals from the industry.

All young trainers will receive a participation certificate upon completion of the second session.
