Cutie not to be upstaged by her sister

Lanmore Cutie gave Pauline Moran's litter by Fernando Bale from Punk Da Punk their second Wentworth Park win in successive meetings when she posted a best time of the night 29.84 on Saturday.

The wide running Lanmore Cutie led throughout from her suitable box six draw to score by over seven lengths in a 520m fifth grade, taking her Wenty tally to two wins and a third from six starts.

Lanmore Cutie's litter sister and kennelmate Lanmore Babe had led throughout from box two to take out the final event at Wentworth Park last Wednesday night in 30.16.

"Jimmy Coyle owned Punk Da Punk but wanted to get rid of her so I took her as a brood bitch with the deal being I would give him a pup from any litter I bred from her,'' owner-trainer Pauline Moran said.

"Her first offspring were no good, but I had already mated Punk Da Punk to Fernando Bale, paying a $4000 stud fee for that dog, before that slow litter had been educated.

"If Punk Da Punk had come in season after the first litter had been educated and looked like being pretty slow, I would not have paid that money to breed from her again.

"But the Fernando Bale litter is very good, and Lanmore Dollars, the brother to tonight's winner and to Wednesday's winner, has ability too and has won two races at the provincials.''

The licensee and some regulars at Camperdown's Lady Hampshire Hotel were celebrating after their bitch Hampshire came from seventh at the first turn to win Saturday's opening event.

Trained by Justin King, Hampshire won for the syndicate of eight at Wentworth Park on January 22 in 30.26 but posted a slick 30.05 on Saturday.

"They bought Hampshire from breeder Craig Chappelow after the greyhound had been broken in,'' King said.

"I believe Hampshire could develop into a good stayer because her personal run home time tonight was 11.66 and they don't often run a lot faster than that.

"She never puffs or blows after a race either and that's a good sign of stamina.''

Snazzy Ethics' 29.95 was second quickest 520m time on Saturday while Zipping Miranda continued the amazing run of Marty Hallinan's Zulu Zeus-Crafty Lady litter by coming from fourth early to notch her third win in five Wentworth Park starts.

Zipping Junior and Zipping Zeek from the same litter won for Hallinan and trainer Jason Magri at Wentworth Park on Wednesday and Zipping Miranda has now won four of six outings.

Ray Magri, deputising for his brother, trainer Jason Magri, said at Wentworth Park: "Zipping Miranda is my favourite greyhound in Jason's kennel.

"At home all she wants to do is play, but when she gets to the racetrack she is all business.''
