Frank's Pair Improve Impressive Record

Frank Hurst's brilliant siblings Good Odds Cobber and Good Odds Atlas took their combined records to 15 wins from 30 starts with outstanding performances at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Good Odds Cobber, whose previous best Wentworth Park time had been 29.93, led throughout in a flying 29.68 while Good Odds Atlas, a previous 29.64 winner, came from behind for a determined win in 29.89.

The sons of Fernando Bale and Good Odds Meghan are closely related to Hurst's Million Dollar Chase winner Good Odds Harada.

Hurst said he was toying with the idea of starting Good Odds Cobber and Good Odds Atlas in Friday's heats of the Maitland Gold Cup but would make a decision early in the week.

"I've always considered Good Odds Cobber to be a tick faster than his brother,'' Hurst said on Saturday.

Trainer Jason Magri will set Zipping Teresa for the group 1 National Futurity following her impressive all the way win in 29.71 at Wentworth Park on Saturday.

"She didn't have much luck when second to Nangar Jim at Wentworth Park last week but she jumped better tonight and that made the difference,'' Magri said.

"The heats of the bitches' classic, the National Futurity, are on January 13 and that series is Zipping Teresa's goal.''

Zipping Bentley, just 20 months old, notched his third Wentworth Park win in six appearances when he came from fourth at the half way mark to take out Saturday's Dogs Only Final for trainer Mick Hardman.

Zipping Bentley worked his way across from box eight and finished fast along the rails to run down Brother Onyx in the straight.

Hardman said: "I don't know what box he wants, I don't think Zipping Bentley knows either.

"He rails well but he handles wide draws perfectly and as he is only a baby he has a future.''

The Bitches' Only Final was taken out by Sid Swain's front runner Miss Zig Zag, who led all the way to win her heat in 29.73 and reeled off slick early splits of 5.39 and 13.80 to win Saturday's run-off in 29.82.

Fastest time of the night was posted by Neville Brown's vastly improved Eyes To Eyes, who, despite racing wide, led all the way in the Free-For-All in 29.54.

Eyes To Eyes, who put the writing on the wall with a quick 29.25 win at Gosford on Tuesday, recorded brilliant early sections of 5.36 and 13.69 on Saturday.

Fred's Way scored his first Wentworth Park win in nine attempts when he led throughout in 30.03 in a 520m fifth grade on Saturday.

After the race trainer David Smart said: "Fred's Way trialled 29.80 at Wenty as a youngster but he has been beaten a lot because he is pretty dumb in a field.

"He is always running into other dogs but he went straight to the front tonight so I wasn't surprised that he held on to win.''
