A Wave Of Success

Remember This, a fast 29.66 heat winner, is among the top chances in tonight's group 1 Ladbrokes Dapto Megastar but her dam Sky Wave has produced an even more exciting group of youngsters from her second litter.

Remember This, who has won 15 of 32 starts, including five at Wentworth Park, is from Sky Wave's first litter to Fernando Bale.

The second litter, sired by Barcia Bale and less than 22 months old, includes Wednesday night's all-the-way Wentworth Park winner Mario Wave, Bolt Wave, who was a certainty beaten when second at the same meeting, and Miss Sky Wave, who won over 400m at Bulli in a scorching 22.21 on Tuesday.

Vic Sultana, trainer of Remember This along with Sky Wave's latest crop, said: "The trio which raced at Bulli on Tuesday and at Wenty on Wednesday are pretty smart.

"And while Mario Wave won on Wednesday his brother Bolt Wave, who was beaten into second place, is actually the quicker of the pair.''

Crack Queensland trainers Selena and Michael Zammit have three strong chances in today's Casino regional heats of the Million Dollar Chase with Inevitable expected to be their best prospect.

Inevitable, who has won 10 of 24 races, has box two in heat one over 484m while his kennelmate All Natural, who has drawn seven in the same heat, boasts the same strike rate.

In heat two the Zammits will be represented by Another Chance, a winner of 15 from 38 races, who will exit box four.

Although the Zammit trio has not raced at Casino, Michael Zammit disclosed they knew their way around the tricky northern rivers circuit.

"They all trialled there about six months ago,'' he said.

"Inevitable is the quickest of our entries although All Natural is also a very quick dog.

"Inevitable is desperate for the fence so box two will suit him and he has a lot of ability, having clocked 29.66 over 520m at Albion Park.

"All Natural should handle his wide draw because I expect him to run in a straight line from the boxes.

"And he has terrific early speed although his problem is that he is a risky beginner.

"Another Chance though will have his work cut out because he is up against Magistrate, one of the best greyhounds in Queensland.''

Magistrate, who has won 20 of 37 starts, has box eight, and has won two of his four starts wearing the pink rug.

First four in each of the two heats will qualify for Thursday week's 484m Casino regional final.

It may have been just a 400m Maitland maiden worth $1200 but to owner Luke Warby last week's win by Walker's On was akin to a Golden Easter Egg triumph.

Trained by Harry Norman, who had Calypso Rogue in the group one Vic Peters Classic final at Wentworth Park in July, Walker's In gave Warby his first winner as an owner.

"What made it special was that Walker's In had been selected as a puppy by Luke's 12-year-old daughter Scarlet,'' explained Warby's pal, long-time owner and former successful trainer Jason Kozaczynski.

"It has been a lifetime dream of Luke to own a greyhound which could win a race so he was over the moon after the puppy his daughter picked out and which cost him just $2000 won that Maitland race.''
