Jet Gives Arthur Something To Scream About

By Jeff Collerson
A connection south coast businessman Arthur Langman made while living in Dubbo for two decades has resulted in his ownership of Screaming Jet, currently the sport's most consistent sprinter.

The Andy Lord-trained Screaming Jet notched his fourth Wentworth Park win in three weeks on Wednesday night when he produced a personal best flying 29.63 to easily take out a third and fourth grade 520m event.

Screaming Jet, who had four lengths to spare at the finish over kennelmate We Don't Share, was one of four winners from the Andy Lord kennel on Wednesday.

Lord also scored with Carbon Coby, Bandit Bullet and One Hot Bandit, while placings with We Don't Share, Doonan and Purring Along netted the Gunning trainer $19,650 for the night.

Screaming Jet's owner Arthur Langman explained: "I lived at Dubbo for nearly 14 years and got to know Shayne Stiff, a successful local breeder and now the club president.

"When his bitch GINA Keeping whelped a litter to Bernardo in February, 2021, I bought the black dog puppy which now races as Screaming Jet.

"I paid $10,000 for the pup but it was a bargain deal as that figure included the cost of Shayne rearing my puppy until he was 12 months old.

"Screaming Jet is the best dog I've had since Becton, who won 18 races in Queensland and Victoria between 2006 and 2008.''

Trainer Rob Tyler has three greyhounds in the the GRNSW Thunderbolt semi-finals but his full scale assault on the rich series continues with another trio of candidates at Goulburn on Friday.

After qualifying over 320m at Wagga last week with winner Seely's Queen, who scored her seventh win in 14 starts in 18.32 and veteran Preston Lee, who clocked 18.30 chasing home course record breaker Talakai, Tyler's Wicked Cyclone was fastest heat winner overt 340m at Bulli on Tuesday.

Wicked Cyclone has now won 14 of 26 starts since joining Tyler's kennels and he will now be withdrawn from Friday's Goulburn heats.

But Tyler is hoping to add another three to his Grafton semis lineup with Our Boy Duke, Ritza Daniel and former Victorian Blue Redeemer, a winner of 15 races, competing in 350m heats at Goulburn.

"I am planning on taking my Thunderbolt semi-finalists to Grafton for a trial on the track on Sunday or early next week,'' Tyler said.

Grafton's Thunderbolt heats will be held on Sunday while semi-finals, comprising qualifiers from heats there, Wagga, Bulli, Gosford, Taree, Goulburn, Richmond and Dubbo, will be held on June 18.

The $75,000 to the winner final is scheduled for Saturday, June 24 over 350m at Grafton.

A trip to Wentworth Park is on the cards for Dinali Keroma after the dog notched his third win in four starts at Gosford on Tuesday night.

Trained and owned by Susan and Ray Pitstock, Dinali Keroma followed two brilliant 388m wins at Gosford with an all-the-way 515m win in a handy 29.69 on Tuesday.

Interestingly, Dinali Keroma was sired by Dual Keroma, an outstanding race dog for the Pitstocks, and whelped by Nialilli in Tasmania by breeder Darryl Fitzsimmons.

Susan Pitstock said: "Dinali Keroma is from the only litter sired by Dual Keroma.

"Since he retired from racing, Dual Keroma has been a family pet and has ruled the roost on our property at Mangrove Mountain.

"Darryl wanted to use the dog as a mate for his bitch Nialilli and after she whelped her litter Ray and I bought three of her puppies.

"Dual Keroma absolutely loved Wentworth Park and perhaps Dinali Keroma might take a liking to the track as well because he races in a similar fashion.''

Dual Keroma raced 59 times for 21 wins and 15 placings between 2017 and 2019 and won a swag of races at Wentworth Park, with his personal best a flying 29.66, figures rarely matched in those days.
