Michelle's Perfect 6 From 6 Weekend

The winning double by Buzz Junkie and Canya Smurfette at Wentworth Park on Saturday night completed a mind-boggling 96 hours for Hunter Valley trainer Michelle Lill.

Lill's Wenty successes gave her six winners from six starters since she landed a winning double with Lochinvar Milan and Canya Unleash at Ladbrokes Gardens last Wednesday.

Lill then began Saturday morning with a flourish, taking out 324m races up the Richmond straight with Canya Unleash and Olsen Street before heading to Wentworth Park and landing a 520m fifth grade with Buzz Junkie in 30.06 then taking out a similar race with Canya Smurfette in 30.09.

"Buzz Junkie won the group 1 Adelaide Cup in October and returned to my kennels a month later,'' Lill said.

"He has been racing over middle distances at Gosford, The Gardens and Maitland, but I switched him back to this 520m trip at Wenty because while he is top grade over 600m, he is a fifth grader at Wentworth Park.

"Surprisingly Buzz Junkie seems to have found a bit more early pace so now I will take him to Gunnedah for the heats of the Chief Havoc Cup over 527m on June 4.

"The final is worth $40,000 this year and Buzz Junkie has had a post-to-post slip at Gunnedah but I will take him back there for a trial before the heats.''

Lill's husband Mick confirmed that following Saturday night's strong finishing win, Canya Smurfette will join Buzz Junkie in the Chief Havoc Cup series at Gunnedah.

Ibrox Wildfire, having only her second run since a spell, took out Saturday night's Wentworth Park Free-For-All in 29.76, .21sec outside her personal best Wenty figures of 29.55.

Racegoers were surprised when Ibrox Wildfire, a noted strong finisher, roared away with a huge lead in the early stages but was almost collared in the straight by Len Me Dad, a renowned front runner.

Ibrox Wildfire "kicked" near the line to score by a neck but she was probably entitled to fade after reeling off a sensational first split of 5.29, which she followed up with sizzling sections of 13.71 and 17.82.

Lithgow Road recorded her personal best Wentworth Park figures of 29.86 when she ran down pacemaker Shanghai Suzie to land Saturday night's $8000 to the winner gapnsw.com.au Final.

Lithgow Road's two previous Wentworth Park wins, on April 19 and May 5, had been in 30.15 and 30.30, but trainer Paul Roach was not surprised by her fast time on Saturday.

"She has always had a lot of ability, it has just taken a bit of time to bring it out in her,'' Roach said.

Saturday night's sole 720m event, a top grade affair, saw the Andy Lord-trained trio Punter's Bandit, Tiger Jack and Cawbourne Magic fill the trifecta.

Silver Luck, another from the Lord kennel, made the pace but Punter's Bandit took over at the top of the straight before holding off Tiger Jack's late challenge to score by a length in a sizzling 41.67.

Tiger Jack almost certainly should have won as he collided leaving the back straight when in a winning position.

Lord also won with Tommy Kade, who notched his eighth Wentworth Park win in Saturday night's fourth and fifth grade, clocking 29.97 despite again running very wide and colliding early.

Tommy Kade jumped cleanly from box two but as always, veered to the centre of the track and as one race watcher put it, he "battered" his way to the outside before sweeping around pacemaker Redeem Our Cash on the home turn.

Cumbria Days continued Nowra trainer Steve Fitch's incredible run with the Fernando Bale litter he bred from his bitch Hill Top Belle by scoring his fourth Wentworth Park win in 30.19 on Saturday.

Cumbria Day began fairly well from box one but dropped out going through the catching pen before railing up hard on the back straight to be second approaching the home bend and then hitting the front on the corner.

"I have never had so many box ones in my life lately but Cumbria Days is the first to make use of it,'' Fitch said.

"He is a strong dog and has run home in 11.60 at Wentworth Park, but for some reason he just won't drive through on the first turn there.

"Everywhere else he does, so I don't know why he doesn't do so at Wenty.''
