Richmond Drag Lure Trial Update

By GRNSW
Greyhound Racing NSW has been forced to delay next week’s trials of a Prototype Drag Lure at Richmond to ensure the lure is able to operate safely.

Preliminary testing of the lure and system was conducted by the manufacturer up the Richmond straight track on Wednesday, with GRNSW track and infrastructure staff in attendance.

All in attendance agreed the purpose-built system tested reasonably well and has potential, however, with safety being paramount in the industry, a number of adjustments are required for safer operation and to ensure the welfare of the greyhounds, before further testing, and single or multiple greyhound trials can take place.

Unfortunately, since the early December trial dates were scheduled last month, the manufacturer has advised GRNSW that he will be overseas throughout December and as such will be unable to make the modifications until his return.

As soon as he returns and the adjustments are made, GRNSW will once again embark on testing and then set dates for single or multiple greyhound trials.
