Treble At Wenty For Jodie Lord

By Jeff Collerson
JODIE Lord's Million Dollar Chase and Golden Easter Egg winner She's A Pearl might have been run down by Wow She's Fast in Saturday night's Sandown Shootout but the Gunning trainer had another big night at Wentworth Park, landing a winning treble.

Lord's trio of Sydney winners included Coin Model, who clocked a sizzling personal best time of 29.63 in leading all the way for a 10 lengths' romp in the $8000 to the winner Ladbrokes Easy Form final, feature race on the card.

Coin Model's run home time was an outstanding 11.60, indicating she will have no trouble winning over distances beyond Saturday's 520m trip.

Coin Model's kennelmates We Don't Share (pictured) and Doonan, both resuming from a spell, also led throughout, clocking 29.90 and 29.94 respectively.

Coin Model is raced by Sydney motor vehicle dealer Clay Mullens, who also owns Coast Model, an older half sister to Saturday's winner, and who has earned a whopping $232,150 in prizemoney.

Second fastest time posted at Wentworth Park on Saturday was the 29.74 recorded by Mac Ibrox, who shook off his Wenty hoodoo with an easy all the way win in the final event.

Mac Ibrox is a litter brother and kennelmate of Ibrox Wildfire, who has won seven races at headquarters.

Until Saturday night Mac Ibrox had won just once in 11 visits to Wentworth Park, despite trainer Billy Dance being aware that in trials the dog was slightly quicker than the more illustrious Ibrox Wildfire.

Geoff Curtale, who trains his small team at Cowra, 305km from Sydney, notched his 10th Wentworth Park winner for 2022 when Falcon Fly led all the way on Saturday in 29.76, clearly the greyhound's personal best figures at the track.

A $20,000 purChase by Curtale early this year, Falcon Fly jumped brilliantly from box five and won by 13 lengths.

After the race Michael Curtale, deputising for his brother, said: "Geoff didn't mind Falcon Fly being out in box five because he has always reckoned the dog likes to be drawn away from the rails.

"But he told me Falcon Fly needed to get away fast because he was worried Ultimate Coat, who had box six, could chop him off.

"We have done a lot of travelling this year but being a small kennel we are thrilled with how well our dogs have gone at Wenty.''

Trainer David Smith continued his happy association with central coast owner-breeder Lorraine Atchison when Tarawi Ferrari took out Saturday's opening event in 29.96.

"Tarawi Ferrari had not raced at Wenty but he trialled very well in a box-to-box hit-out on Tuesday and I thought he was ideally positioned in box eight tonight,'' Smith said after the race.

Smith trained Hello Mavis, a 2020 winner for Atchison at Wentworth Park, along with Tarawi Ted, who was successful for the combination at headquarters last year.

Wyndra All Class maintained her "love affair" for outside draws with an all-the-way win from box eight in 29.89.

It was the sixth win in 11 Wentworth Park outings for Wyndra All Class, who had won from box six at WP on October 26 and from box seven on November 2.

She has been extremely well placed by trainer Daniel Gatt, who said after Saturday's success: "I believe she is eligible for another fifth grade at a Wenty Saturday night meeting so we'll be back here with her again.''
