Robert "Cricket" Cook, who drove the lure at Lithgow greyhounds for over 60 years, passed away on Tuesday aged 82.
"Cricket" had also been a highly respected "muscle man" - or greyhound chiropractor - as well as training greyhounds and driving and training pacers during his long and colourful career in sport.
Leading trainer Sid Swain, whose partner Bev is Cricket's daughter, said: "Just about everyone in greyhound racing knew or had heard of Cricket, he was a true greyhound racing legend.''
GRNSW extends its condolences to Cricket's family and friends.
