Racing And Track Update

By GRNSW
With heavy rainfall over the past couple of days, and the forecast of rain to continue in many areas and regions around the State over the next 24 hours, Greyhound Racing NSW wishes to advise participants of the track situation at each of the racing venues over the next 48 hours.

Please note that this update is of 10am on Friday April 8, and GRNSW will update all participants if the situation changes at any of the venues.

Today – Friday, April 8

·       Goulburn – 12mm of rain overnight. No concerns with racetrack for today’s meeting.
·       Gosford – Staff are on track now repairing minor ruts from heavy rain, however no concerns at the moment with racing set to go ahead tonight.
·       Wagga Wagga – rain is about and the forecast is for a storm to hit later today. At the moment no concerns for racing.
·       The Gardens – No real concerns for the track but staff will continue to monitor the situation.

Tomorrow – Saturday, April 9

·       Richmond Straight – The track has taken on a lot of water. Inspections will be carried out today.
·       Wentworth Park – Rain continued overnight and this morning we have experienced non-stop heavy rain. The track still has gouges at the catching pen and minor rain ruts around the track. At 10am there was heavy rain falling with the radar showing it should ease very soon with scattered rain clouds of the coast. GRNSW track staff are currently working on all issues.
·       The Gardens – No real concerns for the track but staff will continue to monitor the situation.
