Minister's Response To Draft Animal Welfare Bill 2022

At a meeting in Dubbo on Thursday of industry participants and stakeholders, Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) Chief Executive Officer Tony Mestrov and some of his senior staff, representatives of the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC), and the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. Dugald Saunders MP, amendments to the draft Animal Welfare Bill 2022 were discussed at length, in particular the prospect of prohibiting frozen semen insemination (FSI) in NSW.

On Friday the Minister confirmed in correspondence with the GRNSW CEO that the Bill will be amended.
