There is always plenty happening for greyhound participants both in and out of the industry, and that has only increased in recent times.
To help keep everyone across some of the upcoming events, and make sure you don’t miss anything, each Friday afternoon Greyhound Racing NSW will publish a Weekly Update, highlighting several of those events for which nominations close over the next seven days.
While the big Group events will always receive extra coverage, and the calendar on thedogs.com.au will remain the place where participants can see all the upcoming racing, the Weekly Update will hand pick a few of the smaller features which may entice participants.
First up this week we have 1-3 win, 5th Grade heats at Wentworth Park over 520m on Wednesday 2 February, with a $6,000 to the winner final.
Also on Wednesday 2 February at Taree, the club will stage the heats of the Kevin Schmitzer Memorial, for 5th Grade greyhounds over the 314m journey. The event will culminate with a $3,000 to the winner final.
The Temora club will host Ladbrokes 330m Maiden heats on Thursday 3 February, with a $2,000 to the winner final.
Bathurst have their huge night next Friday 4 February with the $40,000 Bathurst Cup Final the main attraction with heats of the that event staged on Monday 31 January. The night will see a number of feature races held, including a $12,000 to the winner Maiden Final, and a $5,000 GRNSW Middle Distance event, a Non Grade Best 8.
The Richmond Straight track will hold heats of a 5th Grade event on Saturday 5 February, with the final worth $2,000 to the winner, and Grafton will stage 5th Grade heats (1-3 wins over the 350m) on Sunday 6 February, with the final worth $2,000 to the winner.
On Monday 7 February, Maitland has 5th Grade heats over 400m (1-4 wins) with a $2,500 to the winner final, and on the same night Nowra will hold Maiden heats over the 365m with the final worth $2,000 to the winner.
Participants should also note that nominations for Saturday race meetings at LADBROKES GARDENS, will now close at 9am on Wednesdays.
