Jungle Deuce and Ruby Keeping Highlight Dubbo Card

By Peter Davis
Ruby Keeping has made every post a winner in four career outings and, on Thursday at Dawson Park, the youngster faces her sternest test.

The daughter of high profile American sire Superior Panama is a near faultless beginner and her 29.64 all-the-way win at Dubbo represented a career best effort.

Last time, Ruby Keeping quickly led from box seven – the same alley she exits on Thursday – and held kennelmate Stanley Keeping at bay in the fastest time of the night.

Stanley Keeping worked across from box eight to be third mid-race and closed with intent in the latter stages to only miss by three quarters of-a-length.

Punters will side with Ruby Keeping yet, from box three, Stanley Keeping is a major player. He’s a winner at the track in a smart 29.69 and should get clear air in the run to the first turn.

While not protecting an unbeaten record, one of the most improved sprinters in the state – Panjams Snowman – seeks his sixth successive win in Race Four.

The Grenfell-prepared blue dog followed a 18.90 win over 330m at Temora on November 5 and before a strong finishing 23.02 effort at Dawson Park eight days later.

He’s since remained unbeaten in three outings at Bathurst (twice) and Temora – the latest in a near record 18.61 – and is particularly adept from wide boxes.

And, in Race Five, Jack Smith’s star sprinter Jungle Deuce steps out in an engaging Free For All over 516m.

The reduced line-up (of five) is in Jungle Deuce’s favour yet kennelmate Irinka Riley (box two) is drawn to get every chance and has a near record 29.35 personal best at the track.

A five time winner at Dubbo over 516m is Squiggle Keeping (box five) and he’s in the mix yet the Smith-trained pair have an edge.

Dubbo’s twilight 12-race strong card kicks off at 3.37pm
