Siblings Set To Star At Dubbo

By Peter Davis
Youngster Jumpy Keeping turned heads in a slick 29.64 all-the-way debut win at Dubbo on November 27.

The fashionably bred son of Superior Panama then chased home sibling Ruby Keeping in the rich Brian Maxwell Memorial at Dawson Park seven days later and, on Saturday, is drawn to salute again.

Last time, Ruby Keeping made full use of box one to lead from the get-go while Jumpy Keeping worked to second at the first turn (from box five) and battled solidly to be less than one length away in 29.77 – the best time of the night over 516m.

While up in class and facing vastly more experienced opposition, punters will strongly side with Jumpy Keeping – he’s on home ‘turf’ and the inside alley is a clear tipping point.

Only 17 minutes after Jumpy Keeping steps out for his third start, Ruby Keeping contests the second of two Grade Five heats (516m) on the 11-race card.

In two starts, Ruby Keeping has shown sound box manners to lead from the inside alley and, this time, is again handily positioned in box two.

With the moderately paced Blackfoot Angel not expected to match Ruby Keeping for early speed - and with a vacant box to her outside - she gets the chance to dominate from box-rise.

Earlier on, two maidens contests over 516m hold genuine interest.

FORBES trainer Jack Smith has newcomers Irinka Gladys (Feral FrankyIrinka Sadie) and Irinka Andy (Barcia Bale - Slinky Inky) engaged while Pauline Keeping – a litter sister to Jumpy Keeping and Ruby Keeping also debuts for Charmaine Roberts.

On a late-twilight card, Race 1 at Dubbo on Saturday jumps at 5.54pm.
