Team Braddon With Good Hand At Dubbo Again

By Peter Davis
Team Braddon departed Dawson Park at Dubbo on October 30 with four winners and as many placings from just 11 starters and Groundhog Day, of sorts, looms.

On Saturday, Pam and Paul Braddon will arrive at Dubbo with six aspirants with Paul’s only representative being the promising Digger’s Magic.

At his debut, Digger’s Magic – a rising two-year-old by Aston Dee Bee – scored from box eight at Bathurst (over 307m) in a solid 17.88s on October 25 and backed up with an all-the-way effort at Dubbo five days later.

His 18.37s victory was comprehensive, yet promising runner-up Spring Venom cut a five lengths mid-race advantage to just under two panels late in the contest.

This time, Digger’s Magic exits an ‘ínside’ alley for the first time (Box 3) and his racing pattern suggests he’s ideally positioned.

Improver Fusion Diva (Box 2) will have admirers yet she posted 18.57s in her maiden win (at start three) on October 30, nearly three lengths slower than Digger’s Magic and he also has an edge to the first section of .12 (or 1 ½ lengths).

Pam Braddon will handle Lonie Swift (Box 6) in the same race and her recent Bathurst form has been solid yet her patchy box manners are a real concern in such a high-speed affair.

Earlier, Pam has debutant Gypsy Lane drawn in Race 2, BENNY Bow seeks to add his sixth successive win in Race 5, Meeka’s Charm in the Free For All (Race 6) while Carla’s Magic steps out in Race Seven over 400m.

The first of Dubbo’s 10 races gets underway at 5.57pm.
