Braddons To Continue Dubbo Success

By Peter Davis
For the past few years, Paul and Pam Braddon's 2 ½ hour trip up the Mitchell Highway from Cowra to Dubbo has been paved with gold.

The husband-and-wife team is a force of nature in greyhound racing's heartland - the central west – and Dawson Park in Dubbo is their happy place.

Since early August, the couple has prepared 27 winners from 100 starters with 13 posted at Dubbo and on Saturday, the party is expected to continue apace.

Pam has six runners engaged on the 11-race evening program with the ever-improving BENNY Bow looking for his fifth successive win while track specialist Magic Bear gets his chance to secure win 12 at start 20 later in the night.

Since September 3, Pam Braddon has prepared 14 winners from 50 starters (eight wins from 22 at Dubbo) to narrowly shade Paul’s 13 wins with five being at Dawson Park (24 starters).

Bragging rights are on the line ... and it’s advantage, Pam!

Pam has six drawn to compete while Paul’s five include Free For All Sprinters Arrie A Blaze and Rapid Hill Billy which clash in Race 10.

Earlier, Paul’s Unlock The Fury and Swift Shelly contest Race Six (over 400m) while Digger’s Magic steps out in Race Nine over 318m.

A similar scenario arises with Pam’s sextet. Lightning Blazer, Blazing Lisa and Meeka’s Charm have drawn boxes one, two and five (respectively) in Race 11 and thus providing a best result on the night of four winners.

The back end of the card is where the Braddon’s get busy with the much-improved BENNY Bow looking to add his fifth successive win to his resume (all at Dubbo) while Digger’s Magic (Race 9 Box 7) and Magical Bear (Race 10 Box 8) are expected to prevail.

And in the nightcap, Lightning Blazer (Box 1) and Blazing Lisa (Box 5) will surely hold all the attention of punters. The box draw favours Lightning Blazer yet Blazing Lisa holds a slick 22.70 PB at Dubbo over 400m.

The first of 11 races at Dubbo on Saturday gets underway at 6.12pm.
