Maiden Money Increases Monday

By GRNSW
Not the first Tuesday, but the first Monday in November will have significance for those in the NSW greyhound industry this year, with the day signaling the start of prizemoney increases for maidens across NSW provincial racetracks.
From this Monday, November 1, prizemoney for provincial maiden events will increase by $440 per race.
Winners of all provincial maidens will now collect $1,200, up from $900, with second placegetters receiving $340 and prizemoney for third now at $250.
Wentworth Park City and Wentworth Park Provincial 520m Maidens, will for the time being remain at the same levels of $1,500 for first, $460 for second and $350 for third.
This Monday’s increase is part of the record returns Greyhound Racing NSW announced recently, to be distributed among participants in 2021-22.
Late last month, GRNSW announced a 23% increase in prizemoney and returns for participants this year with the new record total of $47 million to be distributed this year.
It continued a hugely positive upwards trend in returns paid to the industry’s participants, which have increased by 100% from $23.5million in 2016.
Further announcements around the dispersal of prizemoney will be made in coming months.
