Another Super Stayers at Wenty

By Jeff Collerson
Miss Ezmae prevailed over her top class rivals in last week's Sydney Cup but while she is missing on Saturday night Cup placegetters Super Estrella and Zipping Niseko, along with the unplaced favourite Stanley Road, will reprise their meeting in the 720m Free-For-All at Wentworth Park.

Super Estrella, runner-up to Miss Ezmae, has box five while Zipping Niseko, who made the pace before finishing third, has box eight.

Stanley Road was beaten nearly six lengths into fifth place but could turn the tables through having only five opponents on Saturday night at Wentworth Park.

Trainer Mark Gatt said: "He has box seven but the small field will suit him and he had no luck last week.

"Stanley Road got sandwiched as he came out of the boxes and after that ran into a few backsides but he is that sort of dog.

"When things don't go his way and he can't find the runs he can get beaten but he pulled up okay and is ready for this week.

"Just the same, Super Estrella is going to be hard to beat because I thought her second behind Miss Ezmae was massive as she was trapped three deep most of the way.''

Stanley Road's kennelmate Ritza Donna has been placed in each of three Wentworth Park races despite bungling the start and  will be chasing her first city win in Saturday's We're Back At The Track Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

"Ritza Donna is just a bad beginner but she is a good little chaser and I can't knock her because she puts in every time she races,'' trainer Mark Gatt said.

Ritza Donna's toughest rival looms as She's Salacious, who was runner-up to Light And Lilly in last Saturday's group 1 Ladbrokes Peter Mosman Opal final.

"She's Salacious pulled up better than ever and I was happy with her run last week,'' trainer Peter Sims said.

"I'm not making excuses but the track was heavy on the inside last Saturday and She's Salacious was there all the way after drawing box one.

"Not a single box one dog won all night but that's racing, you just have to come back at have another crack.''

Zulu Warlord finished down the course when a hot favourite from box two at Wentworth Park on October 13 and will be the public pick despite drawing inside again in Saturday night's 520m Free-For-All.

"He came up with the lids at his last start and then found trouble but Zulu Warlord is going as good as he has ever gone,'' trainer Michael Hardman said.

Zulu Warlord is better suited drawn wide but has won two of his four starts from box one and should get a clear run, with moderate beginner Ritza Coen in two and box three vacant.

Ritza Coen's trainer Mark Gatt said: "He is returning after dropping a back muscle and hasn't raced for six months.

"He is trialling well without setting the world on fire and might need a few runs to get back to his best.''

Hardman also has Springview Noah in box one in race five, Springview Magic in box five in race six and Analysing in box eight in race nine.

"Springview Magic is going well but not as good as he was a few months ago,'' Hardman said.

"Springview Noah is well boxed and is a young dog on the way up, although I'm not sure he can beat Bandit Belle, who has won three of four Wenty starts.

"Analysing is well boxed but she is in a hard race.''
