Carr's Youngsters Favoured At Dubbo

By Peter Davis
Peter Carr has had great success at Dubbo for many years and, on Wednesday, he rugs up youngsters with excellent winning prospects on a twilight program at Dawson Park.

The four ‘arrows in his quiver’ are debutant Bee Casey along with siblings Stinger Casey, Morales Casey and Riley Casey.

The quartet, by Aston Dee Bee, are out of Carr’s former smart short-course sprinter El Casey.

El Casey was an 11-time winner and had a real affinity with Dubbo where she saluted eight times. Her first litter by Kinloch Brae produced top grade Wentworth Park winner Jimmy Casey as well as Brea Casey.

First to go on Wednesday is Bee Casey. She is one of two newcomers (the other being State My Mate) in the 318m scamper and, with very little depth surrounding the form of their rivals, the two newcomers will attain significant marketplace attention.
With a slow beginner to her inside, it’s advantage Bee Casey as State My Mate must contend with the five alley.

Stinger Casey is Carr’s second runner on the 12-race card and does not step out until Race 10 – a competitive 318m affair.
In four outings, Stinger Casey has managed three wins but has not raced since July 3 when an 18.62s all-the-way winner at Dubbo. He cramped in the concluding stages in that win and stewards requested a fitness trial before starting again.

The subsequent solo trial at Dubbo produced a clear, career-best 18.26s effort and, as a near faultless beginner, box seven is no hindrance.

Also drawn wide is Morales Casey in Race 11. After winning at his first two starts (July 17 and 24) at Dubbo, he dwelt from box one and was badly baulked at the first turn when fifth to the promising Brown’s Boy at Dawson Park on July 31 when a well-supported $2.30 chance.
And, in Race 12, Riley Casey seeks to finally prevail over 318m. He’d been placed in five of six starts at the trip before a maiden win over 400m (at Dubbo) on July 17.
His task looks to be the most problematic for Carr’s youngsters with the promising Bestow Keeping well positioned in box eight.

The lids fly in the opening race on Dubbo’s twilight card at 3.36pm
