Vale - Victor Boon

By Jeff Collerson
Victor Boon, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, aged 87, combined with his mother Mabel Boon to train several outstanding greyhounds of the 1960s and 70s.

Long time family friend John Little, current trainer of classy sprinter Redshift Seven, said: "Their best was probably the top class stayer Come On Rhonda, who won the prestigious Jockeys & Trainers Cup at Wentworth Park along with two marathon races.

"But Victor and Mabel also trained very smart greyhounds Fairy Side, Rhonda's Image, Silver Rhonda, and Go Silver Girl.''

Victor Boon left behind his wife Diana and daughters Linda and Laurene.

GRNSW offers sincere condolences to the Boon family.
