“Greyhound racing and The Daily Telegraph have a shared history going back decades. We know our readers love the dogs,” Editor In Chief Ben English said.

“When then Premier Mike Baird tried to end the sport in NSW it was The Daily Telegraph that rallied to the cause and led the fight to get the ban overturned. We did it because we understand what our readers want and care about.

“Other newspapers have stopped carrying the form, not the Tele, which still has dedicated reporters bringing you the news that counts from the track, the trainers, the owners and the dogs. That is not going to change. The Daily Telegraph and greyhound racing have a great future together.”

Greyhound Racing NSW Chief Executive Officer Tony Mestrov said he was thrilled that his organisation was able to make this offer to its members, and echoed the sentiments of Ben English.

“We have a tremendous relationship with The Daily Telegraph, Ben and his staff,” he said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for 1000 people who are a part of our wonderful industry, to join in the great partnership and relationship we have with News Corp Australia, by securing a free subscription to the Daily Telegraph.”
