Zipping Niseko Set To Atone At Dapto

By Peter Davis
Emerging staying star Zipping Niseko returns to Dapto on Thursday and is expected to atone for her latest surprise defeat over 618m at Richmond.

The Luke Adams-prepared youngster – a litter sister to Group 1 winners Zipping Sapporo (pictured) and Zipping Moose – is destined to be tested at the elite level but her quality was laid bare at her most recent trip to Dapto’s Showground circuit.

From box three on January 28, she roared away to score by seven lengths in 34.29 seconds – just .20s outside Fantastic Tail’s long standing track record.

She was cut down late by the talented Sneaky Marquee at Richmond on February 5 yet Zipping Niseko is drawn to again lead and extended her unbeaten record at Dapto over 600m to three.

There’s little doubt the brindle lass will start at a very restricted price, with last start Wentworth Park winner Redshift Seven (box seven) considered her main threat. He, however, is yet to prevail in nine Dapto outings over 600m but has won at the track in a sharp 29.78 secs in Free For All company over 520m.

The 11-strong litter which includes Zipping Niseko (Aston Dee BeeCrafty Lady) has already accumulated 30 wins with a winning strike rate of 42.3 per cent and returned connections a cool $239,790 at only 25 months of age.

While Zipping Moose is yet to step out after his National Derby win at Wentworth Park on January 23, Zipping Sapporo is engaged at Wentworth Park on Saturday night. She’s secured the rails alley in race seven and will again carry the hopes of favourite backers.
