The race meeting scheduled for Richmond tonight has now been abandoned.
The Richmond track lost power due to severe storms on Tuesday night, weather which also brought down trees and power lines in the area which impacted access to the racetrack.
A decision was made earlier on Wednesday to push the day meeting back to a night timeslot to allow for the clean-up and to allow time for the power to be restored.
However, Greyhound Racing NSW has been working with local agencies who have informed us that the clean-up is continuing, and that power is now unlikely to be restored until later tonight.
As a result of this information, GRNSW along with the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission have decided to abandon the meeting.
