Vale - Ron Peck

By Jeff Collerson
Long-serving Queanbeyan and Canberra Greyhound Clubs board member Ron Peck died of a heart attack last week, aged in his 70s.

A brother of current trainer Bruce Peck, Ron Peck was on the board of the Canberra club for two decades and was also a driving force behind the now defunct Queanbeyan club and track.

Ron Peck, a trainer for over 40 years, enjoyed success with greyhounds such as Cheeky Jan (11 wins), Bat Cape (10 wins) and National Title and Commando Status (six wins each).

But his best greyhound was Quick Fix, who won 31 of 67 starts from 1997 to 1999.

Greyhound Racing NSW offers its sincere condolences to family and friends of Ron Peck.
