Hutton takes training honours at Taree

By The Dogs News Desk
Lisa Hutton took home bragging rights from the first TAB meeting to be staged at Taree, but most punters would have found little joy in her feat.

Based at the small country hamlet of Coolongolook, nearly 50 kilometres south of Taree, Hutton headed to the historic meeting with no less than six runners and El Grand Deano in Race 7 was her first winner saluting at odds of $23 when scoring by the barest possible margin from the odds-on favourite Vista Inferno.

Three races later and Lisa was back in the winner’s stall, but again it was to the chagrin of punters, when Sailor Boy charged home late to win at the juicy quote of $19, with both of her winners wearing the blue rug.

Time honours on the 11-race card went to the evergreen One For Tod ($4.20) who posted her 28th career win for Nabiac trainer Helen Hanson when scampering over the 314m trip in a slick 17.95; Leanne Walker prepared Fab Nikki ($2.00 fav.) to score in the last leg of the quaddie running the 392m journey in 22.51; while Oh Five Surprise ($2.40 fav.) made it a day to remember for Coolongolook trainer’s, registering a 31.35 victory over the 537m distance for Richard Milton.

With races live streamed via-www.thedogs.com.au website and across Sky Racing 1 and Sky Racing 2, wagering turnover was very strong and exceeded all expectations for the 11-race card, which could only be hailed as a great success.

The next TAB meeting for Taree is set down for Wednesday, July 8, with the Club being granted 26 TAB dates for the 2020-2021 racing year.
