George Says We Should Go With No More Partying

By Jeff Collerson
No More Partying has won three of his past five starts and trainer George Borg leans towards him ahead of kennelmate Jackpot Josie, who boasts an identical recent record, when assessing their form for Saturday night's Adopt A Dog Today Stakes at Wentworth Park.

No More Partying, who has box two, was runner-up behind Drink Moet in fast time when making his Wentworth Park debut last Saturday while Jackpot Josie, who has drawn five, is having her first start at headquarters.

"Jackpot Josie has been racing really well in shorter races at Richmond and she goes good, but although I would prefer to see No More Partying boxed wide, he is more experienced and his Wenty run last week was terrific,'' Borg said.

"I had trialled him at Wentworth Park a couple of weeks earlier but could not determine how he went because the clock did not work.''

Among the form opponents for Borg's duo is the JODIE Lord-trained Winlock Shifty, who has won five from 10 provincial races.

"He is a smart dog but has box six and he will be seeing Wenty for the first time on Saturday night,'' Lord said.

Lord is more confident about the chances of three of her other runners on Saturday.

They are Ritza Donald, who has box five in the 520m Keep Your Distance Stakes, Winlock On Top (box two, We Love The Odds Stakes, 520m) and El Rapido, who has drawn eight in the 720m Thanks Participants Stakes.

"Ritza Donald has a tricky draw but I don't think that will worry him,'' Lord said.

"A big 36kg dog who is a tenacious chaser, he won't take a backward step and is flying at the moment.

"Winlock On Top had no luck when fifth at Wentworth Park last Saturday and that was the first time he had seen the track so he should improve, especially from his good draw.

"El Rapido is ideally drawn in box eight and is in super form.''

While Lord is slightly concerned that El Rapido could tire in the straight, as she is having only her second 720m test, her main rival Sorry Scott is also doubtful at the testing 720m trip.

Formerly with Adam Crouch, Sorry Scott is now in the kennel of Michael Eberand, who trained crackerjack stayer Ebby Ripper.

"Adam is an ambulance officer and due to the coronavirus crisis he did not have time to devote to looking after Sorry Scott,'' Eberand said.

"I have only had her for a month but she flew in her clearance trial over 515m at LADBROKES GARDENS on June 5, clocking 29.39.

"She has won in fast time over 600m at Dapto and over 618m at Richmond but I'm unsure as to how she will cope with the final 50m at Wenty.

"Adam entrusted Sorry Scott, a potential top stayer, to me because of the success I had with a long-distance performer like Ebby Ripper.''

Ironically the toughest to beat for Winlock On Top in the We Love The Dogs Stakes looms as Murphy Rumble, who is trained by Mark Gatt, the son of Frank Gatt, who is the owner of Lord's greyhound.

Murphy Rumble was having his first Wentworth Park race when run down by Ritza Donald at WP last Saturday after jumping from box three but has the luxury of having box one on Saturday.

The dog has an almost flawless record from the rails trap with six wins from seven starts.
