Burning Fuel burning up the track

By Jeff Collerson
Burning Fuel could return to Wentworth Park for the Masters event programmed for June 6 following her blistering 24.57 win by 11 lengths over 440m at Goulburn on Friday.

Her 20th win from 58 outings was just .27sec outside the course record shared by Let It Develop and Good Odds Harada.

"Although she has won three races at Wenty, Burning Fuel doesn't really like the place,'' trainer Mark Wilcox said.

"But she is fine there as long as she can get on the lure so the Masters race on June 6 is tempting because she is going so well at the moment.

"Burning Fuel has been trialling as fast as ever but while on paper it may look as if her form had trailed off a little, that is only because I have had to nominate her for races which are a bit shorter than her ideal distance.

"It has been difficult to find 500 metre races for her and Burning Fuel prefers the 440m at Goulburn or a bit further.''
