Feral Franky becomes a first time father

By Jeff Collerson
Feral Franky has become a father just 24 hours after his third birthday with Flying Mikayla whelping four huge puppies - two dogs and two bitches - last Thursday.

Flying Mikayla's owner-trainer Lee Burke bought her at the Dapto puppy auction for a mere $500 and guided her to 15 wins and 24 placings, with the highlight arguably being victory in a Wentworth Park Free-For-All in January, 2018.

Burke's father Barry said: "This is Flying Mikayla's first litter and she had a hard time of it, with caesarean section needed and one of the big pups being a breech birth.

"She was a handy bitch but would have won a lot more races at Wenty if only she had railed better going through that first turn, where she always got so wide.''

Feral Franky's trainer and studmaster Jack Smith said: "My bitch Irinka Lizzy, who won 11 of her 37 races, is also not far off whelping a litter to the Feral, and she looks to have a belly full!''
