GRNSW UPDATE: MAITLAND MEETING NEXT MONDAY

By Greyhound Racing NSW

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) can announce today that the Maitland track has been included in the Hunter regional zone, and will host a race meeting next Monday, April 6, with meetings also confirmed for the following two Mondays.

After consultation with the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC), it was agreed that Maitland could be added to the Hunter zone, alongside The Gardens, to help cater for those greyhounds in the region which are not suited to the tighter Gardens’ circuit.

The change occurs as a result of work with GWIC to facilitate the meeting, and GRNSW wishes to thank GWIC for their cooperation in enabling this change to be made.

The COVID-19 racing schedule has only been in place for just over a week, and while there may have been some issues, GRNSW has stated the schedule will continue to be monitored and changes will be made where possible, appropriate and where they are required.

The latest addition comes after it was announced additional meetings would be staged this Friday and next Tuesday at Grafton.

The program for the Maitland meeting will be on thedogs.com.au at 1pm on Thursday. Nominations for the meeting, which will be an evening race meeting, will close at 11am Friday, April 3.
