Turbo Thomas makes it a record 17 wins in a row

The Jason Mackay-trained Turbo Thomas has extended his winning streak to an amazing 17 races, a new Australian TAB track record.

At LADBROKES GARDENS on Friday afternoon, Turbo Thomas won the Mobiley Money Stakes over 400m in 22.38s the win seeing the son of Collision and No Diggity surpass the record for the previous best winning streak of 16, held jointly by Fernando Bale and Miss Elly Mint.

Starting an unbackable $1.08 Favourite, Turbo Thomas pushed through to lead early and once in front the record was always in his keeping.

Turbo Thomas was a beaten favourite at his first ever start at Richmond back in May, but has since won 17 straight at Maitland, Richmond, Wentworth Park, and LADBROKES GARDENS, where he improved his record to five starts for five wins on Friday.

While he has now gone past both Fernando Bale and Miss Elly Mint, Turbo Thomas still is a few wins shy of the all-time (TAB or NON-TAB) greyhound winning streak in Australia.

That record is held by North Queensland dog Tropical One with 24 successive victories in the early part of the century, taking the previous record from MOUNT ISA greyhound Sophocles who won 21 races on end.
