Back good as ever and ready for Wenty win

Cosmic Blend broke a toe and finished down the course when a $2.90 favourite at her most recent Wentworth Park start but is ready to recapture her best form in Saturday night's 520m fifth grade Ladbrokes Multimaker Stakes at headquarters.

Cosmic Blend suffered her toe injury in March but has come back "as good as ever'' according to trainer Mark Wilcox.

She led throughout from box three to win over 400m at Bulli last Saturday night in a blistering 22.28 and Wilcox said she is now as good as when she won in a slick 29.97 at Wentworth Park in February.

"I'm pleased to see her drawn in box two on Saturday because Cosmic Blend never seems to jump well from outside boxes,'' Wilcox said.

"If she gets away as smartly as she did at Bulli last week she should take some beating.''

Cosmic Blend has a good draw as stayer Midnight Joyce, although well positioned in box one, lacks early pace, while Too Easy Punk, who has box three, is a wide runner.

Gilded Lady, a litter sister and kennelmate to crack sprinter Knight's Page, returns to Wentworth Park in Saturday night's wentworthpark.com.au Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

The Gayle Masterson-trained Gilded Lady resumed from a spell at Wauchope on Boxing Day and led throughout to win a 457m top grade sprint in fast time.

"I had nominated her for the Wauchope Cup but she didn't get a run in that race, so I took her up there anyway and she won the Free-For-All,'' Masterson said.

"Gilded Lady had not seen the track previously but she went extra well and more importantly it was a good conditioning run for the 520m at Wentworth Park.

"After she finished the 457m at Wauchope Gilded Lady went hard into the back of the catching pen, so all up she had close to a 600m hit-out which should be ideal for Saturday.

"Gilded Lady was unplaced in two WP races in the spring but is older and more experienced now than she was then.''

Gilded Lady looks ideally positioned in box one as her litter sister, Girl Interrupted, who has box two, is a wide runner and should give her sibling a clear run from the boxes to the first corner.

While it has attracted just six starters, Saturday's 520m Free-For-All promises to be a thriller.

Foxzami Keeping, who set the 520m time standard of 29.75 in leading all the way in a 520m fourth grade at Wentworth Park last Saturday will be opposed by established Wenty stars Zipping Truvy, Blue Summer Sky and Jimmy Casey (pictured).

Zipping Truvy, resuming after an injury-enforced let-up, has drawn her favourite box, number one, and goes into the race boasting a Wentworth Park tally of seven starts for three wins and three placings.

Blue Summer Sky was a certainty beaten in dead-heating for second behind Spookie Vision in last Saturday's Wentworth Park Free-For-All, while Jimmy Casey was not disgraced when third to superstar brothers Feral Franky and Good Odds Harada in the group 3 Christmas Gift at the same meeting.

While Zipping Truvy is well drawn on Saturday, so too is Jimmy Casey who has box eight.

He had box three when third, beaten just under seven lengths, in Feral Franky's Christmas Gift, but runs his best races at Wentworth Park when drawn wide.

Jimmy Casey won a Wentworth Park top grade in 30.16 from box eight on November 9 and on July 13 wore the pink rug when a fast finishing second to Good Odds Harada in another first class WP event.

That night Jimmy Casey was fourth at the first turn and after giving Good Odds Harada, the pacemaker, nearly five lengths' start on the back straight, wound up just over two lengths behind the winner.
