Sarah and Liz set for a winning Wenty debut

Sarah O'Sullivan has a great chance of training a winner with her first Wentworth Park starter when Lollipop Liz lines up for Saturday night's Ladbrokes Multimaker Stakes, heat four of a fifth grade 520m series.

Lollipop Liz has won seven of her past 10 starts on provincial tracks and has consistently displayed the kind of early pace that could enable her to lead all the way on Saturday from box three.

At her latest outing, over 515m at LADBROKES GARDENS on November 23, Lollipop Liz came from second early to win comfortably in the fastest time of the night.

In five of her seven recent wins Lollipop Liz has posted the quickest time of each meeting.

"I took her to Wentworth Park on Tuesday night and trialled Lollipop Liz over 520m and she clocked 30.24,'' O'Sullivan said.

"Considering it was her first look at the track I was quite happy with that time.

"I have been training for six or seven years but have not had a starter on a metropolitan course.

"My father Jack O'Sullivan bred Lollipop Liz from his bitch Lollipop Ollie and I chose her to be mine on the day she was born.

''Lollipop Ollie won nine of just 15 starts before a persistently split webbing ended her career on the track prematurely.''

Mount Brown has not raced at Wentworth Park for eight months but a fast finishing second over a less than suitable 400m at Bulli last Saturday indicates he is ready to win this week's second heat of the 520m fifth grade series.

At Bulli Mount Brown was fifth to the home turn before flashing home to be beaten in a photo finish, and the Charlie Micallef-trained dog will relish the additional 120m of Saturday's race.

The dog has registered five wins and 10 placings at Wentworth Park and has posted a slick 29.95sec for the 520m trip there.

He finished down the course at his most recent Wenty outing but that was in a heat of the 2019 Golden Easter Egg, a far cry from the fifth grade class Mount Brown will be tackling this week.

Mount Brown's fastest Wentworth Park time was from box eight but he boasts a handy record from box two, his draw on Saturday night.

He has won three and been placed seven times from 13 appearances while wearing the black and white striped rug.

"Although Mount Brown is getting on in age he is going as well as ever,'' trainer Charlie Micallef said.

"I trialled him at Dapto recently and he went as fast as he has ever gone in his life.

"He went so well I even considered putting him in this week's group 1 Dapto Megastar heats but decided to save him for this easier race at Wentworth Park.

"I am pleased to see him in box two on Saturday because Mount Brown loves the rails.''

Highlight of Saturday's Wenty card will be the return of glamour dog Pindari Express (pictured), who will be a long odds-on favourite to win the 520m Free-For-All.

Pindari Express has drawn ideally in box eight and despite the opposition of in-form trio Dual Keroma, Canya Star and Eye Rock, he should win comfortably.

The last time Pindari Express drew box eight was in a 472m race at Bulli exactly 12 months and despite leaving the boxes a distinct last, he swept around the field to win running away in a brilliant 26.07sec.
