Harry Hampson, who trained the 1998 Paws Of Thunder winner Waiwera Marika at Wentworth Park, died on Thursday morning, aged 78.
Waiwera Marika was the first NEW ZEALAND owned greyhound to win the Group 1 Paws Of Thunder, then known as the NSW St Leger.
Hampson was highly successful throughout the 1970s, 80s and 90s, training mostly out of the Sydney suburbs before relocating to the Lithgow area.
