Lightning VISION only won a fifth grade at Wentworth Park on Saturday night but the Neil Staines-trained greyhound posted group race time for the 520m.
Moderately away from box two but assisted by the wide running antics of Hello Mavis, in box three, Lightning VISION led at the first turn and careered away to score by 14 lengths in 29.53sec.
The dog posted smart second and third splits of 13.84 and 17.89 before running home in an outstanding 11.64.
"Lightning VISION (pictured) as won twice at Wentworth Park but has not nailed the start here the way he has done at Goulburn,'' Staines said later.
"Sometimes dogs take a few runs to work out the Wenty boxes so I'm hoping Lightning VISION is one of those greyhounds.
"His goal is the group 1 Paws Of Thunder at Wentworth Park in January but in the mean time I might take him to Melbourne for a couple of low grade races.
"That way, if he continues to develop in 2020, he will be experienced on tracks like Sandown and The Meadows when big races come up there.''
Roused, a litter brother and kennelmate to last week's Wentworth Park winner Scorched, won on debut at the track in a 520m fifth grade on Saturday, heading Tears To Glory at the first turn before winning by three lengths in 30.14.
Trained by Jason Magri for his brother Ray, Roused had defeated recent WP winner Aussie Infrared in a slick 26.32 over 472m at Bulli last week.
"Considering tonight's race was his first over 520m, I think Roused's effort was good,'' Ray Magri said.
"He had seen Wenty twice, but Jason had only given him a post-to-post hand-slip and a box-to-box trial so he had not been over the full 520m course.''
Brea Casey led throughout to win Saturday's only 720m event in the slow time of 43.06 but trainer Peter Carr believes his greyhound can improve on those figures.
"She went into this race 'cold' because I wanted to give her a 600m hit-out at Dubbo or a 618m race at Bathurst to get her ready for her first 720m at Wentworth Park,'' Carr said.
"But neither Dubbo nor Bathurst have had middle distance races available so Brea Casey had to go into this on a sprint preparation.''
Pop's Paradise was another all-the-way winner at Wentworth Park on Saturday who could improve his time at his next start there.
Pop's Paradise won a 520m fifth grade in 30.27 at his first test over that distance since August.
"I expected him to run a good race but was worried he could be a little under-done,'' trainer Glen McKinley said.
"The only races he has had since August had been over 280m at Wentworth Park and 400m at Dubbo so it was not surprising Pop's Paradise got a bit tired in the run home tonight.''
Rattlin' Home won Saturday's Beast Unleashed At Stud final for Newcastle trainer Brian Mitchell, taking the lead going through the pen to score in 30.49.
"She is no world beater but is very honest, Rattlin' Home has no tricks to her,'' Mitchell said.
"She gives me 100 per cent effort every time I put her around, and one can't ask for more than that.''
Peter Carr and Neil Staines landed winning doubles on Saturday, with Carr's second success being with Jimmy Casey and Staines taking out the final event with Gumby's Rhino.
