Vale - Jim Coleman

By Jeff Collerson

Jim COLEMAN, one of Canberra's most successful trainers during the sport's golden era in the ACT, died on Monday night after a year long battle with lung cancer.

From his pet shop at Queanbeyan, COLEMAN, who was based at nearby Carwoola, supplied food and equipment for the area's greyhound trainers for many years.

Among the good greyhounds COLEMAN trained were Mon Reve, who won 14 of 33 races between 2006 and 2008, Taliesin Ted (10 wins, 2006 and 2007), Taliesin Blue (12 wins, '08-2012), Magic Points (seven wins, 2009 to 2011) and more recently the speedster Wedgewood, who won nine races last year and in 2017.

GRNSW wishes to pass on condolences to Jim’s family and friends.
