Wenty about to get hit by a Tornado

By Jeff Collerson

Tornado Tears, who has earned a whopping $755,000 after winning 29 of 47 races, will be back at Wentworth Park for the heats of the Group 1 Sydney Cup on Friday, October 11.

His Victorian trainer Robert Britton, who took out the 2017 Cup final with Fanta Bale, will also bring NSW-owned Blazing Cartier to Sydney for the big 720m event.

Blazing Cartier, already a dual 720m Wentworth Park winner, has had a win and two seconds from her past three starts over 715m at Sandown Park.

Brendan Pursell, who trains his team on the same Lara property as Britton, plans to bring She Will Bloom, who will make her first Wentworth Park appearance on Saturday night, and Annie Lava to Sydney for the Cup heats.

She Will Bloom, who won over 725m at The Meadows on September 21 and again last Saturday, boasts a smart strike rate of 14 wins and 11 placings from 35 starts.

Annie Lava is also no slouch, having registered 11 wins and 24 placings and scoring in 42.02 over 715m at Sandown on August 29.

Rajasthan, winner of the world's richest race for stayers, the 715m Sandown Cup, has been cleared to contest the 720m Sydney Cup at Wentworth Park.

The Rob Camilleri-trained Rajasthan, who has earned $280,000 from 25 wins and represented Victoria in the National Distance Championship in Perth in August, satisfied stewards with an impressive 520m trial at Wentworth Park.

In last Saturday night's clearance trial Rajasthan was a fast finishing second, beaten a half length, by Zipping Leroy in the smart time of 30.14.

The dog is now on target to add to his imposing record in the Sydney Cup series, which gets under way with heats on Friday, October 11 and concludes with the $100,000 to the winner final a week later.

Nangar Kash and Nangar Blaze, who reached top grade for western Sydney trainer Mick Hardman have been sold and will do their future racing in Queensland.

Nangar Kash, who is drawn to contest the opening Wentworth Park heat of the TAB Million Dollar Chase on Saturday night, has won 15 races while Nangar Blaze has saluted the judge on a dozen occasions.

"Their sale have left me with just one dog, Inversion, who won recently for me in 29.76 and 29.97 at Wentworth Park,'' Hardman said.

"I am now on the lookout for a couple of replacements for the two Nangars.''

Federal Elle, litter sister to 2018 Young Star Classic winner Federal Lilly, continues to impress as a middle distance performer, winning over 600m at Albion Park on Monday in 35.36, fastest time of the night.

After being a distant fourth at the half-way mark, Federal Elle stormed home to win running away, and looks ready to tackle long-distance events.

Trained by Corey Mutton at Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, Federal Elle has now won each of her three races beyind a sprint trip, having scored in best of the meeting figures over 630m at Ipswich at her two previous outings.

Mutton is likely to bring her to WP for a 720m test in the near future.
