Nominations for Richmond Riches closing soon

A revitalised industry, record recent prizemoney increases, the world's richest race in our backyard, and a confidence for new owners to become involved, has organisers enthusiastic about the upcoming Richmond Riches auction.

The event, first held in 2014, which ultimately saw the Tony Brett-trained Thirty Talks (pictured) take out the Final in 2016, is expected to again attract both breeders and buyers on November 24.

And one of the additional lures this year is the increased prizemoney with the winner the 2021 Richmond Riches to pocket $50,000.

“The success of the previous auctions held here at Richmond, including the Riches auctions and the Gold Muzzle auction which we hosted here at Richmond earlier this year, has seen a real confidence displayed in our breeding industry and has been responsible for new owners coming on board and getting involved in the sport,” Richmond’s Acting Manager Grant Carroll said.

“There is a lot happening in the sport here in NSW at the moment, particularly with the TAB Million Dollar Chase, and we have a fantastic Regional Final scheduled for Friday night, and with all that is going on, sometimes dates can slip your mind.

“We have already received a few nominations for the auction, and I know as an industry we quite often leave things until the last minute, but I wanted to let people know that the closing date for nominations I looming, and is on October 4, so nobody misses out.”

The club has also rebranded the Richmond Riches in 2019, and all their information around the auction and the race series, can be seen, and found at Richmondriches.com/">www.Richmondriches.com.
