Furious Not Fast out where she likes it at Wenty

By Jeff Collerson

Box eight specialist Furious Not Fast, who took out a third and fourth grade event at Wentworth Park at her most recent start, is poised to notch her third straight win at headquarters in Saturday night's fourth class wentworthpatk.com.au Stakes.

The Mark Ballantine-trained bitch, who has had two wins and two placings in five starts from the extreme outside alley, will wear her favourite pink rug.

After winning from box four in 30.32 at Wentworth Park on July 27, Furious Not Fast drew five when she came from second on the home bend to win in her personal best Wenty figures of 29.97 on August 8.

On Saturday Furious Not Fast should get a clear run to the first turn as noted speedster Zipper Shoes, drawn in box six, seems set to give Ballantine's bitch a good "cart'' to the corner.

Trainer Peter Lagogiane believes Princess Riot's ideal box one draw gives her a huge advantage over Jason Mackay's highly talented Flying Bazza in Saturday's Ladbrokes Cash Out final.

In the Cash Out heats at Wentworth Park on August 14, Princess Riot "came out running'' from box three and led throughout in 29.99, posting sensational early splits of 5.34 and 13.83.

Flying Bazza, who drew box three, was slowly away and after being a distant fourth on the back straight, finished brilliantly to win in easily in 29.85.

They were the only heat winners to get under the 30sec mark but after she drew the rails in Saturday's final Lagogiane said: "Princess Riot could not be better placed to upset Flying Bazza.

"Jason Mackay's dog is very good but he looks awkwardly positioned in box six while Princess Riot is ideally dtawn.''

Tennessee Tiger, whose litter brother and kennelmate Shanjo Prince won impressively at Wentworth Park last Saturday night, looks hard to toss in Saturday's 520m Ladbrokes Odds Boost Stakes.

The Mark Gatt-trained Tennessee Tiger has box eight and kennel foreman Daniel Gatt said: "He loves it out there.

"Tennessee Tiger's last run was in a 472m race at Bulli last Monday and we were pleased with his effort to finish second to Nangar Jack.''

At Bulli Tennessee Tiger, who tends to be a slow beginner, was sixth to leave the starting boxes and gave the winner, who won at Wentworth Park in 29.87 on August 10, a big start in the early stages.

Part-owner Ken Peddie gives his four-year-old veteran Umatilla a good chance of notching his 10th Wentworth Park win now that the dog has drawn box one in the Saturday's opening event, the 520m Duke's Ladbrokes Previews Stakes.

Umatilla finished fifth to the in-form Blabba Mouth at his latest Wentworth Park outing but at his most recent start from box one, he defeated Tilikum at headquarters in a handy 30.13 on June 29.

"Umatilla got tangled up a bit near the first turn at his last start and box one definitely brings him into Saturday's race with a show,'' Peddie said.

Hardest for Umatilla to beat could be Gunnell, despite his disappointing fifth at his latest Wentworth Park outing.

Gunnell led early in that race but dropped out sharply when headed by Nangar Blaze rounding the first turn.

With a lack of early pace in Saturday's race, Gunnell should only need to begin cleanly to be in front on the first bend, and could be ready to repeat his Wentworth Park win on July 12.

In that race Gunnell had box four, the draw he has on Saturday, and defeated My Bro's Ethics, who proved the form with an impressive all-the-way win at Wentworth Park on Wednesday.

Canya Star, who won a fifth grade in 29.89, easily her personal best Wentworth Park figures, on Wednesday night, has "beaten the grader'' and will oppose identical class in Saturday's 520m Jingle & Mingle Stakes.

On Wednesday the Peter Sims-trained Canya Star railed underneath pacemaker Cheeky Lass leaving the back straight and careered away to win by seven lengths.

Canya Star moves from box one to box three on Saturday, but possesses enough early dash to suggest she will be the pacemaker by the time the greyhounds reach the half-way point.
