Crocmedia National Championships
NSW heats of the Crocmedia National Championships were staged on Saturday night at Wentworth Park and it was the father-son team of Andrew and Adam Crouch who stole the show, winning both qualifiers with their greyhounds Jamella Jet and Sorry Scott.
Jamella Jet (pictured) began smartly from box five and headed Cawborne Marty at the first turn before coming away to win heat one by nearly three lengths in a brilliant 29.76s for the 520m.
Just 21 minutes later Sorry Scott burrowed along the rails approaching the first corner to lead going through the pen, winning heat two by a length from the luckless Miley Nismo in 29.99s.
The NSW final of the Crocmedia National Championships will be held on Thursday night at Wentworth Park.
The box draw for the NSW final is: 1 Good Odds Harada 2 Good Odds Buddy 3 Jamella Jet 4 Nangar Blaze 5 Miley Nismo 6 Nangar Kash 7 Cawborne Marty 8 Sorry Scott with reserves Bogan Doonie and Sunburnt Highway.

Ladbrokes Zoom Top Maiden
Exciting youngster Lightning VISION is now unbackable odds to win tomorrow’s final of the Ladbrokes Zoom Top Maiden at Goulburn, following the scratching on Monday of second favourite Paua Of Oscar.
Lightning VISION, trained by Neil Staines, was having just his second start when he led throughout to win his 440m heat by six lengths in 24.71s last week, while the previously unraced Paua Of Oscar, owned and trained at Wagga by David Jones, came from fourth at box rise to lead at the first turn before scoring by four lengths in 24.76s.
They were the only greyhounds to get under the 25s mark.
But on Monday Jones had to scratch the dog after it injured a toe on Sunday.

TAB Million Dollar Chase nears
It’s now less than four weeks until the TAB Million Dollar Chase kicks off in Gunnedah on August 31, and we saw on Sunday a couple of sprinters who will be targeting those opening heats.
The club scheduled one event over the 527m trip – the trip which will be used for the MDC – and it was a near track record performance by the Charmaine Roberts-trained Caitlyn Keeping.
Leading from box rise, Caitlyn Keeping clocked 30.24s, less than a length outside the track record of Myrniong Master (30.19s).
That performance comes on the back of five wins at her previous six starts, four of those in the best of day times, including a stunning, hand-timed, track record, 24.60s over the 431m at Gunnedah back on July 21.
