KENNELMATES Zest To Excel, Typhoon To Excel and Salute To Excel have won 19 races in the past five months for trainer Allen Williams and the trio each has a strong chance at Wentworth Park tonight.
Zest Of Excel, who has won six of 17 starts, has box eight in race one, Typhoon To Excel, who has box six in race two, has won five of 21 outings while Salute To Excel (box five, race seven) has been successful in eight of 18 appearances.
"They can all run but when I trialled them on the same night at Wentworth Park, Typhoon To Excel went the quickest,'' Williams said.
"He has box six tonight and is well drawn out wide.
"Typhoon To Excel has been runner-up over 603m at Gosford at his past two starts but I only put him over a middle distance to build up his confidence for these 520m races at Wenty Park.
"I believe Zest To Excel's third placing at her first Wentworth Park race last Wednesday night was a phenomenal run.
"She would be better suited drawn closer to the rails than box eight but last week's experience will improve her and she is capable of beginning cleanly.
"If she steps away well all she needs is a clear passage through the first bend and she will be hard to beat.
"Salute To Excel has plenty of ability too, but his box manners can let him down, as they did when he bungled the start at Wentworth Park last Wednesday.''
Salute To Excel faces stiff opposition from Winxette, who is racing in the best form of her career for trainer Mary Wright.
Karina Britton, who handles the greyhound for Wright on race nights, said: "Winxette has box eight and is ideally drawn out there.
"She is a funny little girl but is racing with plenty of confidence at the moment and when she gets her own way in a race will always be hard to beat.''
Apart from Salute To Excel, Winxette's toughest rival tonight looms as Bit Flash, who was a heavily backed favourite when third, from box one, to Sorry Scott and Winxette at Wentworth Park last week.
Bit Flash missed the start last Wednesday but moves from box one to a less favourable box six draw tonight, and Winxette came from behind him to snare second prizemoney in last week's race.
Dyna Harpa, the former Victorian who finished fifth to Million Dollar Chase winner Mystic Riot at her most recent start at Wentworth Park on May 4, resumes racing in tonight's sixth event, a 520m fourth grade.
Formerly trained by Andrea Dailly, Dyna Harpa, who has won 11 races and has clocked a sizzling 29.83 at Wentworth Park, is now in the Bargo kennels of Simon Rhodes.
"She is trialling exceptionally well but has box seven and would be better suited drawn inside,'' Rhodes said.
"But Dyna Harpa has won from boxes seven and eight and should run in a straight line from the start to the first corner.
"I trialled her over 400m at Bulli recently and she clocked 22.40, so she is going well enough to win in town.''
Best bet tonight should be the Luke Azzopardi-trained Emgrand Rose, who has box two in race three, a 720m fifth grade.
Emgrand Rose was sent out a warm favourite when second at Wentworth Park last Wednesday, setting up a big early lead before being run down by powerful finisher Sunlit Conswala.
After the race Azzopardi said: "Emgrand Rose had a hard run over 720m just four nights earlier and in hindsight maybe that flattened her somewhat.''
Emgrand Rose had box five last week but is better drawn tonight in box two, and with slow beginner Bad Boy Goodesy in box one, looks sure to be the leader around the first bend.
