Casino track record for Cosmic Bonus

By Michael Cowley

Star Northern Rivers’ sprinter Cosmic Bonus showed he is on track to defend his Master Meteor title with a brilliant, track record performance at Casino on Thursday.

Cosmic Bonus provided his trainer Eveyln Harris with a career highlight which brought her to tears when he took out the inaugural $100,000 to the winner Masters Meteor at Wentworth Park last October, on Million Dollar Chase Grand Final night.

On Thursday in a 411m Masters event, the dashing white and brindle dog speared to the lead and carved out 22.88s on the clock, a time which took 0.02s off the track record which Cosmic Bonus himself set on March 1.

The victory was not only significant for the track record, it was also the 50th win of Cosmic Bonus’ illustrious career.

The dog - who is aged four years and seven months – has had 106 starts for 50 wins, 16 seconds, 14 thirds, and has amassed over $350,000 in prizemoney.

Details of the 2019 Masters Meteor are expected to be announced shortly, along with those for the Million Dollar Chase.
