GWIC announces fee reduction

The Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission has announced that there will be a decrease in fees for some frequent transactions made by participants.

Chief Executive Officer, Judy Lind, confirmed fee reductions for Greyhound Naming Applications and Litter Registrations from 1 July 2019.

Since its commencement on 1 July 2018, the Commission has been working hard in the background to introduce better, more efficient services to participants.

“With the recent introduction of online services, making the processing of these transactions more efficient for everyone, the Commission can now pass on these savings to participants,” Ms Lind said.

“Greyhound Naming Applications are currently $80 and Litter Registrations are $150, both of these will be reduced to just $50 each from 1 July 2019.”

The Greyhound Naming Application cost covers a $35 Greyhound Racing Australasia fee, with the remaining $15 received by the Commission to process the application.

The Commission launched online naming applications in May this year and registrations are currently open for renewal online.

“The Commission will be introducing additional online services over the next six months, and will continue to review fees to ensure savings are passed on to participants where possible,” Ms Lind said.
