Vale - Kevin Kelly

By Jeff Collerson

Kevin Kelly, the father of TAB tracks lure driver and starter Steve Kelly, died on Saturday, aged 85.

"Dad was a member of the Kelly family, who, when based in ORANGE, owned, bred and trained champion greyhounds of the 1950s and 60s like Tell You Why and Macareena,'' Steve Kelly said.

"Leo Kelly raced Tell You Why and dad was his cousin.

"My father also trained for many years in his own right and through his influence, I got my first dog in 1986 when I was 16.

"Three years later I began driving the lure at trial tracks was soon the lure driver and often the starter at TAB tracks including Wentworth Park.''

GRNSW wishes to pass on condolences to family and friends of Kevin.
