Jamella Jet did not go quite as quick as Feral Franky's sizzling 29.57 when he trialled over 520m at Albion Park on Thursday night but connections were delighted with their greyhound's 29.84 posting in preparation for this Thursday's Origin Greyhound Series.
The Andrew Crouch-trained Jamella Jet (pictured), runner-up in last year's Million Dollar Chase and winner of this year's Group 3 The Ambrosoli, is part of the strong NSW contingent for the 520m Origin sprint.
Crouch's son Adam was pleased with Jamella Jet's first look at Albion Park, saying: "Last Thursday was the first time he had travelled and after leaving home at 4am, we did not get to the course until 5.30pm.
"After nearly 14 hours in the car we didn't expect Jamella Jet to break any records and in any case, he invariably improves with a run on a track.''

LET'S Win Meisha is Australia's favourite dog of any breed - and that's official.
Proud owner-trainer Bradley Barnes said Let's Win Meisha had received over 1800 "likes'' in a photographic contest to find the internet's favourite pooch, and she was hands down winner.
"Meisha has her own instagram page and is very popular with people from all walks of life,'' Barnes said.
"She has not raced since October 31 as she fractured her leg and at one stage I feared she might lose it.
"I am now waiting for Meisha to come in season so I can breed from her.
"She came in season while she was injured and is due again soon.
"I am tossing up between mating her with Brad Hill Billy or Keybow, but the latter is the likely option as I have a straw from him already.
"Until Meisha goes to the breeding barn she will continue to live on my lounge.''
Let's Win Meisha was a brilliant front-runner who scored three wins and 17 placings at Wentworth Park, from a career encompassing 10 wins and 27 placings from 72 appearances.

TWO Times Twice is only a reserve but his remarkable last-to-first win over 520m at Wentworth Park on Saturday night indicates he will acquit himself well if he secures a start in Thursday night's 710m Origin staying event at Albion Park.
The Queensland Derby winner's siblings and kennelmates, the John Finn-trained Poco Dorado, Veloce Nero and Blue Moon Rising, are to be joined by the Raymond Smith-prepared Little Digger in the NSW "team'' for the event.
But Two Times Twice is not a bad option to "come off the bench."
A Wentworth Park 720m winner and runner-up to the great Tornado Tears in a heat of the Group 1 Sandown Cup on May 16, he notched his 23rd win in 72 starts on Saturday.
After colliding with Eye Rock at box rise, Two Times Twice was relegated to a distinct last going through the catching pen, but after being third on the home turn and being hampered, he stormed home to win by just under a length.
